★★★★★Brasov's landmark grand hotel standing since 1939 on the edge of the old town — large rooms, a full-service spa and the Black Church visible from several windows.
Saxon walls, Gothic spires and the ski slopes of Transylvania on your doorstep
Brasov is the gateway to the Carpathians and the beating heart of Saxon Transylvania. Surrounded by forested mountains and ringed by medieval walls, the city packs Gothic churches, a car-free central square and a ski resort only ten minutes away into an area smaller than the old town of most European capitals. Visitors arrive expecting Dracula tourism and leave converts to Romania's best-kept urban secret. HaveNaGo curates a selection that matches your stay to the neighbourhood: sleep inside the walls for the full medieval atmosphere, or book a hillside hotel near Poiana Brasov for direct piste access. December brings Christmas markets that light up Piata Sfatului; April and May offer empty cobbled lanes and wildflower meadows above the town; July and August are warm but increasingly busy, so book early for the old-town core.
